Relume vs Claude Designer: Which AI Tool Is Best for Full Website Design?

Can we talk about Claude for a second? Everyone is talking about Claude Designer and how magical it is, but it doesn't do what Relume does. Relume is AI. It works great. You can manipulate the whole design now, whereas when I used it before, it only designed the first page. You can literally build the whole website and export to figma or webflow. Amazing! But everyone is going crazy over Claude Designer regarding websites. I feel like I"m not learning enough AI but I'm using it via Relume and don't see the benefit of using Claude Designer as a web design tool. It doesn't do the whole job and you burn through credits like it's an arcade machine. Does anyone else feel this way? I don't know, maybe I'm just screaming into the AI Void. But Relume continues to be the answer.

Jarrod G. yeah for sure - and we want to continue to be the answer. Our team uses AI to the max but AI has never once "replaced" anything. It has never replaced critical thinking, first principles, core values, etc. Its accelerated how quickly we can do things, gave us new perspectives to consider, push us to think deeper, allowed us to consider more angles more quickly. I think you should have an open mind about Claude and Claude Design, Cowork, Code, and all the things Claude is doing - its definitely changing how we work. But only up to a certain point. Then you have to step in and get it across the line. And if you aren't starting from a foundation of knowledge, years of experience, skills built and learned, core values understood or first principles explored - you won't be able to carry it across the line with the kind of value and impact you may desire. So yes, always be learning, always be pushing, always be leveraging your own mind to make things happen - but take advantage of AI to help you with the things you already understand - because you will definitely be correcting AI - but you have to know enough to correct it, and guide it. Imagine having a tool that already has decades of experience baked right in - again not to replace you, but to accelerate you. Imagine if the tool's results matched that of your own personal expectation, consistently. Or even better, it matched your client's expectations (and then some). Hopefully in a few months you won't have to imagine it.....

Matt J. I hear you. I'm using AI, mainly Chat and Claude. But this particular statement was more about how designers seem to be using Claude instead of tools like Relume. Honestly, I just don't see the benefit of doing that. Relume is a great tool. Claude has to be feed tokens sometimes in the middle of projects etc. One can't be expected to learn everything that is happening in AI and run a business at the same time. It's just too much too fast so process is key.

Jarrod G. agree with you. Relume is the first AI tool that i have seen that doesn’t just do AI slop. It’s a design driven company and tool that follows the best design practices keeping UI/UX in mind, which puts Relume in a separate category for me. It’s a done with you tool - arguably a better use for AI than anything else on the market - making designers more powerful, faster and efficient. Which i love!!!!! now …now…at the same time, smaller clients that don’t need CMS and don’t need the full complexity and legit setup of webflow and are not going to make 10+ page websites don’t need it and don’t even have the budgets for it. So in that case - vibe coding can work. I vibe coded a landing page for a local biz with custom google calendar integration to show their events on the landing page - the landing page looks nice, already somehow in the AI overviews, costs a fraction of what a relume + webflow site would cost (plus webflow fees). It took maybe $40 in tokens + 2 hours of time. Soooo for smaller projects up to 3 pages i would say Replit or lovable are definitely an option. for more serious projects where brands care about branding and need more solid structure - Relume/Webflow is the way to go.
