Hi guys, new Relume customer here. Ive noticed that i often try to paste in elements (even if they aren't Relume elements) and it gives me an error code for the Background color saying "Error: unknown variable". How do i avoid this?
Hi, Matt J. - hope this can still be reviewed, love your designs but sometimes i cant get things to work bc of this error, not all components do this, why does this happen? Help is appreciated ty https://preview.webflow.com/preview/posana?utm_medium=preview_link&utm_source=designer[鈥a&preview=2e903db79948c9938579805d4b825151&workflow=preview
lab96 no worries - its doing this because you started this project from a style guide that did not have variables previously (Webflow had not released/built this feature yet). And inside of the variable there is a unique ID that we reference through our components that can not be recreated into an existing project, so we have no way of updating an existing project to include the necessary variables when you paste in a component. So with that said, if you want to continue using this project with this version of a style guide, but want to copy/paste components in, you will need to make sure to have your library preferences set to v2.1 so that you are grabbing the version of components that does not have variables assigned to it. If you want to use the variables feature in your current project, you can create those variables, but you'll have to assign them manually. If you want to have a preset of variables assigned upon copying/pasting, you would have to start this project over using our latest style guide. You can read more about how to find the preferences and what to change them to through this doc here: https://www.relume.io/resources/docs/updating-existing-projects Hope that helps - if you have any additional questions, please let me know.
