Lost Work Recovery: Tips for Managing Website Changes

hi guys, I have been working for an entire night on a home page- I connect this morning - make more changes - and then I get a message - you have been logged out - 5 hours of work lost . How can I make changes, see them when I reconnect the next morning and not find them anymore. I do not get it.
