Dark Mode Design: Best Practices and Brand Color Considerations

I've just designed a website that primarily uses black as the background colour. In the style guide tab I toggled the site to dark mode. Is that best practice, or should I have added black as a brand colour? I notice some oddities now that I'm editing the style guide on Webflow

Emily M. so it kind of depends in what order some actions were taken - so if you generated a color scheme in light mode, and one of those happens to be black, and then you began making some edits to the concept, and then switched it to dark mode, we don't currently do a great job of taking a snapshot of those edits within some reference file for Webflow but in the style guide everything looks fine. A bit of an odd one, but also a very complicated one to fix. That is at least my understanding of it.
