Bence J. yeah this could happen for a whole host of reasons and I have not been able to successfully troubleshoot or pinpoint a solution for when this error occurs. Like, if you sent me that exact SVG, I'm sure I'd be able to paste it in just fine.... The only thing I can think of to do would be to consider reinstalling the chrome extension but I really dont know if that would work or not. Make sure your chrome and the extension are both fully updated.
Bence J. Matt J., I have this exact same issue and also got it in different projects. Once I cloned my project to a new one and the new one was fine. On another brand new project it's 1 icon paste went well. Second icon gives the error. Weird! Tried to reinstall chrome etc without succes. Not the end of the world though, but annoying sometimes. We can still place a code embed and paste the svg in there and give it the icon class.
yeah, super hard to figure out why this happens and honestly, I'm not even convinced that its the chrome extension or anything that we (Relume) can really control. Its such hit or miss. If you sent me the icon, I bet I could paste it into a project. Super hard to troubleshoot or even attempt to fix....which I know is a shit answer. Its a beautiful feature when it works and for the most part for me, it works.
Matt J. Not a shit answer at all, I get it must be frustrating not knowing what's triggering it. But what I can tell you is that there seems to be a difference between Copy for Webflow via icons.relume.io and pasting the svg as code. The copy for webflow works great, and pasting svg code from figma doesn't, even when I first paste the svg through the transformer on icons.relume.io. Copy for figma, paste it in figma and then trying to pase it in webflow and the error occurs again. Copy for webflow, paste it in webflow, then copying the embed code from webflow and paste it in webflow again and the error occurs. Seems like a really odd and hard issue.
For others, if you're not far into your project yet. Just create a new cloneable and transfer everything (duplicates don't work). Works for me.
ah so you're saying that you cloned the style guide, and then duplicated it within your project, and you suspect that has something to do with why the icon wouldn't paste in?
uninstall-reinstall the relume plugin does it for me, but then it happens again every now and then, so rinse and repeate
