Hey. I´m testing the tool before buying a subscription. Does anyone know why I can´t have a sitemap and wireframes generated from a URL and a workaround so I can use initial sites for planning and expansion.
I was trying the ¨Give it a try¨ buttons before signing up.
okay understood, let me test
Thanks. I´ll signup up once I can see whether it´s worth what I´m currently trying to do. It seems great.
Hmm yeah it seems that specific action might still be limited on free/annonymous plans since we have a limit of 1 page on some plans. If you wanted to send me the URL here or in DM I can put it into a project and send you the result? The share link would look something like this: https://www.relume.io/app/project/P3120692_HSh6sN5ilfemkq7w4hDXIXbWvNAtz4JCBD66AhsqE1c#mode=sitemap and I can delete it once you've had a chance to review.
I will admit that the import URL falls a bit short in some situations - especially if the existing site has any kind of repeated content like a blog etc. There's no way to limit just static pages - so when you put a URL in, we have a web crawler that navigates the site, and just starts pulling in pages as it runs into them. Its not based on the sitemap.xml file and there's no way to control how the crawler navigates. There's a 50 page limit because in our experience, the performance of the site builder starts to get a bit sluggish after about 20-30 pages depending on your system. So even if we unlocked the limit of pages, there's other factors there. I've seen some demos of a v2 of the URL importer where we can control what types of pages get pulled in but we haven't finished the feature off and released it. I would say the URL import is best for getting a few pages and generating the rest of the site using our tools. If you are using it to take a snapshot of the entire existing website so that you can audit all of the pages and decide whether to keep or delete, or to modify their layouts, or to import existing layouts/design etc - then the current state of the tool is likely not a great fit. I hope this context helps. Relume works best when you are wanting to create a new website based on a simple description, and you use our UI to make edits much faster than Figma or Webflow.
Stepped out. I´m back. Well, I´m thinking of importing several websites including this one (https://www.apona.ai/) for one client. This one has a totally screwed up blog because sales/CS people tried to do it themselves after a designer who did the rest quit mid project. My plan is to help them plan revisions of this site using relume, figma, weblow, and only react if needed. I will do the messaging, sitemap, wireframes, and maybe some areas of the design then have a real designer take over since the company is bootstrapped and has already lost a lot of money on projects like this. The other goal is to use these sites to generate a style guide. I do have screenshots of the current pages in Figma and tons of notes, but that´s not going to help these guys that much.
The simple description worked when I tried it to generate a sitemap and wireframes. And I was able to try the palette generator but wasn´t able to see how to use gradients like this.
seems like Relume would be perfect for this kind of situation in my opinion. You can provide a ton of value without a ton of upfront time on your part - get them headed in the right direction, earn their trust, and build a lasting relationship from there. Seems like a win-win to me. Are you pretty familiar with Figma and Webflow?
Diana P. just sent you a DM for a free month of any plan you choose - I would imagine you would be able to get the project up off the ground in that amount of time or at least have a reasonable start, and see if Relume is a good fit. At the end of the day, that's what we care about - impact and value.
Hey Matt. Oh, I would love the free trial for a month. I´m unemployed and starting to learn AI and some other things for contracting now. And this client said if they approve my plan, they can hire me for a few months.
If it looks like something that will genuinely help me with clients like this, it´s something I´ll definitely use and upgrade. I was working as a Head of Marketing for boostrapped and preseed to seed stage companies for a long time and it got too hard being on the inside. But I can handle it if it´s at my own pace using the tools of my choice.
