Struggling with Legacy Class Names in Relume Library | Relume Community

Matías O. yeah its totally possible that when we migrated to the updated Client-First naming conventions, that we just simply renamed the original class to the updated one - but in webflow these classes have unique IDs which is how class sync works - at least that is my understanding and a theory that I'd run with. I'm curious - for the heading-style-# classes, did you add those or did you rename the relevant classes to this? If you had renamed the original classes to the relevant new names, it should work as expected, but if you added them, then technically behind the scenes, they are two different classes and will never sync on paste. I also wonder if testing to see if you turn class sync off, if it'll import things correctly as you would expect? Can you also share the read-only so I have a bit more context?

Hey Matt thank you for your fast reply. Actually now ive tried to paste again a component a now it’s mixed between “heading-styles” and “heading-size”

Matías O. okay unfortunately the style guide that this was started on has nothing to do with Relume's style guide or components. It was one of the downsides to using the untitled UI style guide and components is that you will be forever limited by whatever components were originally released and this style guide. I think your best bet is to try to turn class sync off. Essentially this Untitled UI style guide was a proof of concept collaboration with Jordan to show off the "My Library" feature when it was released - it was a free set of components but was limited in the number of components. With the webflow limitations, its not possible to cross-sync style guides in the way that you are looking to do here.

You'll likely have to manually add your custom classes to sections to get them to match your site's design.

because i’ve been building all the website and updating components names and it’s not soooo messy, since I learned webflow from scratch.

Anytime I spot an error when copy pasting from relume i fix it manually. Usually i get all the components fine

hmm I suppose there is a chance that you could copy/paste one of our style guides into this project but then you'd esssentially have two different style guides to manage. But it could allow you to copy any component in from the library and at least having the headings/typography and buttons all match. You would just need to match the Relume style guide to the Untitled UI style guide manually.

then you'll want to change your library preferences in those screenshots you sent me, to be Relume Style Guide v1.5 - because you will not be able to use the variables system that is baked into our latest components
