I am new to the platform. I am using the AI Site Builder (which is awesome by the way), and want to use some of the sections available in it, but I also want to create my own custom sections in Weblow (using Relume components and some of my own). How do I blend these two approaches because won't Site Builder just over-write my custom sections in Webflow when I sync it?
Kenton E. if you rename the classes of your custom components - everything will import fine. But actually nothing would be overwritten either. So lets say you use layout 1 and customize it in webflow first before syncing in your designs - the sync process will just assume the styles applied to layout 1 classes (class sync). In some cases maybe this is desirable, in others maybe not. Also in some cases this might actually create duplicate classes which can be very annoying to deal with. So the first part of this message is the most recommended way, which is to simply rename the classes of that component before importing new ones.
Got it - so it only touches defined and known classes in the (re)sync process. If you create your own class names for custom work, the system just leaves them alone provided they are not duplicate with other classes?
correct, yep!
Is it reasonable to assume that if I use the off-the-shelf components in Relume and important into Weblow that my design will be fully responsive? I'm looking to get something 80% there asap, and then add customizations later, but responsiveness is key out-of-the-gate.
And, I assume you guys are going to be continually expanding the library that the AI Site Builder has access to?
It's really well done by the way
yeah for sure - we're always trying to expand the library in ways that make the most sense. Appreciate those kind words Kenton!
