Joel G. depends on what you are trying to do but ultimately, the import will not work without it being done inside of the Figma kit.
So if you are trying to import a new website design into Figma, then yes, you'll need to start from a new copy of the figma kit.
If you are importing new or additional pages for an existing project that you've already started from a copy of the figma kit, you can import multiple times into that file no issues there.
