Do clients need a Relume account to leave feedback for Style concepts? The share link says, near the top:
Leave comments on what you like or dislike about each concept to help move things forward
But I can’t see any way (in an incognito window, so, the client’s experience) to do so.
Lee F. they would still have to create an account but its a different kind of account that is flagged by default to not get marketing emails, and we segment it differently on our end for user data. But yeah, still need an account so that we can assign comments to a user and send notifications.
Gotcha. I think that messaging should be quite a lot more prominent when they’re viewing the work. I hate when a tool isn’t fully self-explanatory to normal people (ie clients). Then they come back to me frustrated, I have to spend time teaching them, etc. Thanks as ever!
Wait. Can clients leave comments on the Pitch Comments screen? The share link for it says
Leave comments on what you like or dislike about each concept to help move things forward
But neither I nor my client could figure out how, even after going through the sort of painful (for a client) sign up process (don’t make a client answer “with what tools are you going to use Relume”).
yeah Lee - I really think we need to look at this because honestly, after you had mentioned it, I went into incognito and went to sign up and noticed that its basically just the identical sign up as any user. Which I really dont think it should be. We really need to streamline that. I also think there used to be commenting on the style guide concepts but for some reason its been hidden. Was commenting on the style guide concepts, the whole reason you wanted them to sign up or were you having them comment on the wireframes as well?
Yeah, it’s a confusing roadblock and clear impediment to using Relume as the core of my workflow with clients. Even with an agency partner, we were trying to debug this and she shared a Loom of her going to my share link and trying to comment, and getting the full signup she was really thrown off. And that’s the thing – I already got this client to get through this and comment on the wireframes, so not being able to on the style guide concepts was sort of double-confusing. Also! When I send clients to review wireframes, I don’t want them seeing a tab that says “Design” (or anything else, really). They inevitably click it and go see unfinished work. ❤️
Lee F. yeah, gosh, that is a painful story to hear for sure. Very sorry for the hoops and poor experience on our part. I'll put a case together and see what can be done. Maybe there are some quick wins here. As for the sharing of specific tabs and not seeing other tabs, we actually have that on our Community Roadmap (Share view controls) - which is exciting because it means the product team considering it - so I would go vote for this to increase the chances of it getting built sooner.
Heh, turns out I already voted for all 4 things I see on the roadmap there. How’s that for lack of product focus? 😄 I’m also hoping for some quick wins. If the commenting isn’t showing on the Style Guide by mistake, maybe there’s a “show=yes” (figuratively) to toggle on. Maybe there’s a little identifier to plop in the share URL which when used tells Relume “this is a viewer”, basically, and you merely hide some screens/fields. Maybe maybe maybe, and I love you guys. 😄
