Troubleshooting Class Sync Issues in Webflow: A Guide

no matter what I do, I can't sync my classes.. I have followed the directions here, but still no luck https://www.relume.io/resources/docs/how-to-fix-and-prevent-class-duplication-in-webflow#troubleshooting-tips

also I think I have the preferences set correctly based on my style guide version

Syed (. you'll want to set your preferences to v1.5 - but you'll need to clean up any existing duplicate classes first before pasting in any new components because the classes will just continue to duplicate otherwise.

Matt J. I have tried everything... v1.5 and v2.0... still getting same error

class sync is already complicated enough, but I really need you to follow all of the troubleshooting steps as close as possible and double check that is the case - otherwise we'll just continue to be in this cycle and not get anywhere with it. And I certainly dont want to use up precious and valuable engineering resources chasing these things before they are confirmed/validated and reproducible.

For what its worth - I just opened up 3 separate, older projects ranging from 2023 and 2024 - v1.3, v1.5 and v2 Relume style guides and I was able to paste components into those projects with no issues.

Matt J. to be clear, are you saying I need to clean up all duplicate classes first? even thoug hthey may not be on this particular page?

its like an infection, once there is a duplicate class, Webflow will just continue to do so

That is not apparent from the doc, but thanks atleast I know what I need to do, besides pulling my hair.
