Enhancing UX: Auto-Close Popup for Filters on Toca Football Site

I'm getting UX change requests on this component: https://www.relume.io/components/filters-3. Live site: https://www.tocafootball.com/centers Please make the State/Providence filter's popup box automatically close upon the following user actions: 1. When a user clicks the "Apply" button (after having selected their desired state/providence). Currently "Apply" doesn't close the box - the user needs to also click the "X" which is unexpected and confusing especially on mobile. 2. On desktop: when a user clicks part of the site outside of the pop-up box What approach would you take? Do the requests seem reasonable?
