Question About Relume Figma Starter Project Components

Avatar of Stefan C.Stefan C.

Hey Everyone, Hope you're doing well. I'm just working on my first webflow project with relume and it's been great so far. I started by cloning the relume webflow project and copying over the components etc. One question I have is - Does the Relume figma starter project include every component in it? If so, is there a simple way to remove the ones I'm not using before I go live with the site?

Stefan C. just curious - in the figma kit - why would you want to remove the components (I have some of my own reasons) - but was curious your thought process here to learn more!

Matt J. my apologies. I meant to say does the Relume webflow kit include every component. My concern is that there is a bunch of additional code / components sitting within the site that aren't being used. That said, in the Figma kit, I can see that I would want to remove the components I'm not using once I'm delivering the final design files to a client. This is for a few reasons.

    • Clients seeing that you are using a component kit may make them feel like you aren't doing original work for them

    • Additional assets that increase file size and can create confusion for the internal team

    • Technically they aren't licensed to have all these components at their disposal. I want Relume to make their money 🙂

Let me know if that makes more sense.

Stefan C. ah okay got it - no - the webflow kit does not include all of the components - so no worries there! It just includes all of the necessary utility classes and global classes necessary to build using Relume.

Matt J. thank you. I just noticed the size of the site was quite large (over 500mb) when I was in the site settings. The site is 1 page with no images, so I wasn't sure how that'd be the case? All I did was clone the Relume starter project and bring my components in.

Stefan C. if you mean this - asset size - its because the cloneable is also storing backups - so its really only something that they mention here for Webflow hosting - has nothing to do with the size of the site or the assets that would load on the site etc.

Matt J. ahhh ok that makes sense. This is literally my first webflow project, so I'm just starting to learn the platform. I come from a traditional development background and am a big advocate for performance. Appreciate the insight.
