Greetings everyone! I’m running into a memory issue in Figma when importing assets from my Relume project. After bringing in a few pages, I’m getting this warning: “Almost out of memory — To avoid losing file access, move some pages to a different file or delete unneeded content.” Any tips for working around this? Thanks in advance! 🙏
Kolapass 👋 Thanks for flagging this. It's something we are aware of and unfortunately we have addressed the low hanging fruit to optimize this so far. Some things to consider:
Ensure you are using the Figma desktop app (not browser - browser has their own memory limits and timeout limitations)
Ensure you only have the figma kit open in Figma and start the import after a fresh restart of the Figma desktop app - this ensures the least amount of memory already being used before an import.
Try importing wireframes first, then restart the app, import style guide, restart the app, and then import 2-3 pages from design at a time. This will help maintain the memory.
If you run into any timeouts or anything of that sort, you can run the import multiple times and it'll continue to update things as expected.
Unfortunately I don't know how long we'll have to use these workarounds before we've resolved this issue - as mentioned, its a pretty complex system and we've fixed the low hanging fruit.
