Hi I would like to have this interaction also in my Figma Design file when clicking [Play prototype] However, it's not working either in Figma Design nor Figma Site (I used normal copy paste) (Recorded a GIF) , can you tell me the next step? Thanks.
Hey Matt J., Thanks for your responses. This is an very important information that I'd wish to find out sooner. I spent a lot of time digging into it because I have a deadline in 3 days 馃珷 having these interactions on my website are important. So just to be sure, the loom video you shared was helpful, but it still not possible to have these interactions imported in neither Figma Design nor Site right?
Weena L. yeah very sorry about that. Its a limitation of Figma though, as their prototyping/animation tooling doesn't allow for us to dynamic generate interactions on import, like it does for static frames/elements. Not to mention that we had the library built 2.5 years before Figma Sites was even a thing, let alone released. I believe Figma sites came out a year ago. Since the limitation is on the Figma side, its not clear to me whether they have any plans to allow for this kind of thing, but let's say they were to build out something like this - it would mean rebuilding hundreds of components to work with Figma Sites interactions. A pretty big lift. It would probably take us less time to just build our own platform for publishing - which we are already doing. With that being said, I'm sure its too late or not feasible for you to switch to Webflow, right? It has a pretty steep learning curve but it has a lot of resources. The components themselves would come into webflow pretty much ready to go. It depends I suppose on what the design looks like as well - if you are more familiar with making customizations in Figma, it makes sense to keep going down that path and maybe using more minimalistic components for this first version to meet your deadline, but then maybe look into Webflow for a second phase? Tough spot that I wish we could have avoided no doubt, very sorry that you are in this spot - I feel for you. Been there, done that.
