Hey guys, I just tried importing a Style Guide concept into Figma, however it didn't assign the correct font to the body font...it's all using the heading font. I'm trying to use STIX Two Text for the body, which is a free Google Font that is already present in Figma. Any idea what happened, and do you have any suggestions for fixing it? Can I just try the import again? I will say that I noticed Figma is showing an "Almost out of memory" error. Could that be the issue?
Logan would you mind sharing the figma file as well as the Relume project URL? Here's how to share your figma file: https://www.relume.io/resources/faqs/how-to-share-your-figma-webflow-projects-for-effective-support As for the memory issue - this is a known issue but unfortunately we do not have a clear path to resolve. We have a couple of workarounds though.
Try only doing a style guide import - if this is what you did and you still received this, try to step 2.
If you are in the browser, we recommend using the figma desktop app - only have the figma kit open in a tab, and start from a fresh restart of the figma app so that the memory is as clear as it can be.
Between steps - say you first import wireframes, close the desktop app (or refresh in the browser) then move to style guide, and repeat (restart app/refresh), and so on.
When importing designs, do it in batches - say 3-4 pages at a time if a lot of pages. Sometimes having the wireframes in initially will help speed this up a bit too.
Its something we're keen to fix but its not as simple as one would think it would be. It'll have to be a more foundational change to our export approach, hence the announcement made a few weeks ago. Let me know if any of these tips help out or not. But I am definitely interested to look into this font import issue.
Matt J. thanks for getting back to me. I am on a deadline so I ended up using the Batch Styler plugin to manually adjust the font styles so I could keep making progress. So I'm not sure my Figma file will be much help anymore, but here it is, just in case. I actually did only try to import the Style Guide in the first place but had the issue. You can at least still see that the heading font is erroneously applied to the area that says "Body Typeface" in the Style Guide. I'll also mention that I did the import in the desktop app, not web. Good to know those other recommendations though. Let me know if you need anything else from me.
