Website loads footer first and message field is active

At a glance

The post describes an issue where a client's website loads the footer first before the main content, and the "Message" field is active. The community members discuss this issue, with one suggesting it may be due to autofocus on the form input fields, specifically the "Message" field. This is confirmed by another community member, who notes that turning off the autofocus should resolve the issue. The community members agree to buy each other a beer as a gesture of appreciation for the help provided.

Hi There!

When you load my client's website, it loads the footer (the very bottom shelf) first, and then you have to scroll up to see the content. You'll also notice that the "Message" field is active. Any idea whats going on?

in my 20 years of building websites I have never seen anything like this....WHAT in the world man. I might have to call it a night and be well rested to dig into this one because wow. Wild

I suspect this is because you have autofocus on form input fields. Specifically on message field.
Try turning that off and let me know if it works. :)

oh man! You are totally right! Great catch. I was stuck on it being potentially an anchor since the navigation was mostly an anchor but what you are saying is spot on. πŸ™Œ

You both buy me a beer and we're even. πŸ˜„
Happy to assist.
I've had my fair share of bug fixes, including this one, but let's wait for to confirm this was an actual issue.

I owe you goth a beer! That was it! Thanks your help on this!
