Yeah it's annoying. Have to read through and change all the Americanisms

I have worked around this by resetting all the text on the wires and re-writing other parts to align better to the sitemap, so not so much of an issue now. Would be great if I didn’t need to spend all of that time though as it seemingly should ‘copy’ over from the sitemap any manual edits made there to the wires

this is an issue for us right now. I don't want to overwrite the manual edits we have made to a sitemap, but those edits need to manifest in the wireframes which they do not. The pages are correct per the sitemap, but the components are not. Especially the primary nav labels, and (specific to this project), we removed all ecommerce-related blocks from the sitemap as this is not in scope, but they are still on the wires.
