Fixing Hover State Issues in Figma Button Variants

Hi, I'm trying to create a hover state for some of the buttons in Figma, but when I create a new variant, the whole file crashes and then I get the conflicting variants message on the right side panel. Does anyone have an efficient workaround for adding the hover states to the buttons in the Style Guide page?
