So, what are the plans for e-commerce?
Issac A. yeah I'm not aware of any plans for e-commerce. It's incredibly complex - not saying never but yeah, I think its pretty far down the roadmap in general. Would be interesting to do. But regardless, would love to hear the context/use case you have for it? What are your clients selling, how big is the catalog, how many variants, how many orders per month?
Matt J. Figured, but thought I鈥檇 ask. Won鈥檛 be my primary use case, just wanted to see what I can say yes to. Some clients/friends/family have custom t-shirt shops and candle stores. Nothing too extensive. Mostly local orders, although, they would still like the ability to ship anywhere in the US. Catalogs are mostly smaller, less than 100 items. Variants dependent on the business, but shirts are mostly rotating 20-30 designs along with another 50 static designs. Orders, I would need to check on. Thanks for the response, like I said, more out of curiosity than anything else.
yeah, so shopify would be a bit overkill then
Exactly, this is much smaller scale, or at least a much smaller catalog, even if the volume increases.
Thanks Isaac for the inspiration! I think we鈥檙e exploring a few directions, and this is definitely one of them. With the current Embed component, we could potentially embed a cart or connect Shopify and other e-commerce platforms to Relume. It鈥檚 not fully Relume native yet, but could be a good starting point to explore further.
