Implementing Location-Based Sorting for Inventory Management

Hi folks I'm looking to implement some sort of location/distance sort/filter into the List Filter to sort inventory based on distance to customer. Can anybody give me an idea of how to do this? As I'm looking into it I worry it's very complicated, but it is something our clients want.

Yes that's would be applicable using JS and latitude, longitude, google map or open page data, along finsweet.
