Updating an Existing Project with the New Relume Style Guide and Variables

At a glance

The community member is updating an existing project with an older Relume Style Guide and Variables, and wants to copy over the new Relume Style Guide and Variables. The style guide can be copied easily, but the variables don't copy over. A community member responds that there is no "quick way" to update the variables, and suggests two options: 1) input the same variables that are in a fresh clone of the style guide, with the same names, and then copy in the components; or 2) change the preferences within the library to use the current project with the new components.

I’m in the process of updating an existing project that has an older Relume Style Guide and Variables and I want to copy over the new Relume Style Guide and Variables. Does anyone know how I can quickly update my existing project? I’ve noticed that the style guide can be copied pretty easily, but the variables don’t copy over.

unfortunately, with such a large infrastructure change like Variables, there is no "quick way" to update. Your best bet is to input the same variables that you see in a fresh clone of our style guide, with the same names, and then with the style guide in that project like you have already done, you should be good to copy in components.

The other option is to change your preferences within the library so that you can just use your current project with new components.

Thank you ! I appreciate your help and the quick reply.
