the relume instagram account has been inactive since august last year

At a glance

A community member inquired about Relume's inactive Instagram presence since August of the previous year, expressing interest in signing up but seeking reassurance about the product's legitimacy. A response confirmed that Relume is currently focusing on their Slack community rather than Instagram, with updates available on Twitter and LinkedIn.

The discussion evolved into a workflow debate between using Figma versus going directly from Relume to Webflow. While some community members considered skipping Figma entirely, experienced users advised against this approach. They explained that Figma offers better design iteration capabilities, allowing multiple design versions to be compared side-by-side, while designing directly in Webflow can create maintenance issues and unused styles.

The conversation concluded with a community member deciding to use Relume and Figma but build in WordPress with Elementor instead of Webflow, noting that while design and content are challenging, the technical implementation is straightforward. Another member reported successfully learning Figma within a week.

Hey Lumey crew… Quick question. Anyone know why the last instagram post for relume was way back in August last year? I’m about to sign up to this product and just want to make sure it’s legit and as good as it looks! Honestly I always get told, if its too good to be true….

Hey we’re currently not active on Instagram and focus all our energy into this Slack community which is managed by us. For more updates you can always check us on our Twitter and LinkedIn

Awesome! Thanks Dan. Appreciate the heads up. I’m diving in and will sign up tomorrow! I’ve literally spent the entire day watching videos and builds using relume! It looks insane. I’m an XD user so will have to also learn FIGMA (gulp). Fellow Aussie here! About to do a MASSIVE site for my son’s surf club here in Western Australia!

What advice would you give if I actually want to just SKIP the entire figma part and design direct in webflow from your wireframes straight out of relume (I’m familiar with CF system)

Thanks for the support!

To be honest, there is enough wrong with exporting straight to Webflow. It just comes down to your own personal workflow. But we know alot of users who just to straight into Webflow!

Awesome! I seriously think that’s what I’m going to do. It’s a freebie for my time (they will be paying a webflow developer to finish it) so I think this will work. Cheers appreciate your time.

Hey,

I would say you could run into some issues if you're not already familiar with Webflow/CSS classes and if you don't have a very clear idea of your designs before starting. Webflow isn't a design platform so I'd consider using XD or Figma first to design first... You could leave a lot of headaches for the Webflow dev haha

I appreciate your reply here. I’m a longtime Wordpress guy. Now adding the RELUME>FIGMA>WEBFLOW workflow. Excited about it! Its’ really shifting my paradigm. But - my BIG question: I’m a little confused as to the NEED for Figma at all since Relume is quite robust and has the RELUME > WEBFLOW export. But it sounds like a really need Figma to design? Do you have a quick bullet list of DOs/DONTs I should pay attention to with this process? And with WEBFLOW, do I need extensions and plugins like we do in Wordpress? Webflow seems like it has more “bless and whistles” (animations) out of the gate? Thx for any advice. 🙏

Hey Michael,

I'm no expert here as I'm only been using this workflow for a few weeks, but I have 'designed' sites on the go in Webflow and it can make a big mess if you're not careful. You need to make sure you're cleaning up unused styles. It's also not great for iterating and trying out different ideas quickly, whereas Figma is. When designing, it's best not to get too attached to one idea, and to try many out until you land on something that really works. With Webflow, you'll only be able to work on one idea at a time, and when you try something else, you're scrapping the old idea. In Figma, you can have infinite frames side-by-side with all your different ideas, where they can be compared and changed quickly.

Webflow certainly needs less plugins than Wordpress but I haven't built anything with a booking system / ecommerce on Webflow, as I have on Wordpress.

All just my opinions! I would suggest getting on Youtube - I'm sure someone has a more comprehensive explanation.

I appreciate that advice! Thanks! Most likely I’m going to use RELUME (amazing) and FIGMA and then just manually build the sites in Wordpress w Elementor. The hard part is design and content whereas the technical part is pretty easy and similar to told PSD?HTML days of ol’. It seems like Webflow won’t really benefit us in the ways I’m used too. Thanks again and good luck in your biz. 🙂

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan! Good luck to you too man 🙂

I jumped in to Figma - took a week to learn and I’m going ok - thanks so much everyone!
