The Inconsistent Behavior of the Submegamenu in the Navbar 10 Component

At a glance

A community member is having an issue with the Navbar 10 component in Webflow. The submegamenu is always full-width, but when the window size is changed to show the burger nav and the subnav is opened and closed, then the window is resized back to a larger size, the submenu is no longer full-width and is smaller than the header nav. This issue is also present on the Relume library page.

Another community member responds that if the page is refreshed when the mega menu is broken, it goes back to normal. They suggest that "normal" users don't constantly resize the window, and the document may need to "repaint" itself, which the community member is not allowing to happen. The community member is asked to provide a read-only link to further troubleshoot the issue.

The original community member confirms that the menu does go back to normal if the page is refreshed, but they often resize their browser window and can't tell their clients to avoid that. They express that it would be nice if the component could be fixed to address this issue.

The community member has reached out to Webflow support about this, as it seems to be a behavior of the native Webflow Navbar Element, and they hope Webflow will provide a fix.

Hi there, i would love to use the component Navbar 10 but i have an issue with it. The submegamenu is allways fullwidth. But when i change the windowsize to show the burgernav and open and close the subnav, then went back to a bigger windowsize and open the submenu again its now longer fullwidth rather it is smaller than the headernav. the problem ist also on the relume library page.

if you refresh the page though in the scenario where the mega menu is broken - does it go back to where it was?

"Normal" users don't sit there and change the width of the screen. And in some instances, the document needs to "repaint" itself - but the scenario you are describing, you are not letting the document "repaint" - so it looks broken.

That is at least how I'm interpreting what you are saying - if you think I am misunderstanding, please let me know.

In order to troubleshoot further, I would need a read-only link - if you wouldn't mind sharing that, I can dive in. 💪

Hi Matt, thank you for your response. Yes the menu goes back to normal if i refresh the page. However i use to resize my browser windows quit often and i guess i can’t tell my clients that they can’t shrink the browser window without to refresh the page. it would be nice if you can fix this issue in that component.

I’ve reached out to the Webflow support for this because its the behavior of the nativ Webflow Navbar Element. So i hope they do a fix for this…
