Hey guys! Question unrelated to Relume, but I really appreciate this communities insight.
I'm looking to add software to help me with proposals, time tracking, managing clients and projects, billing, etc. What do you all use? A combo of Honeybooks and Quickbooks has caught my eye as the best setup, but have also heard good things about Bonsai. I'd love to hear what you all think. Thanks in advance 🙂
Hey I use ClickUp for most of it. It has native time tracking, amazing project management tools and the reporting is pretty good.
I can templatise most of my work with that.
Each tool has their strength, it depends what your challenge is really.
You’ll always need an accounting tool. In regards to payments I just use stripe as much as possible.
I've been using Bonsai for the past 14 months, but will be leaving soon. IMO it's great if you're just starting out or working on small projects, but there are some frustrating limitations depending on your needs.
The biggest pain points for me are 1) you can't use variable fields for custom contracts so you have to manually add information for each one, 2) getting paid seems to take forever and when you can finally access your money in Bonsai 3) there is a $3k per day transfer limit so if you get a $10k project payout it will take 4 transfers over 4 days to get all the money to your bank account...
Got it, thank you both for your replies! I've heard that about Bonsai as well, receiving payments seems to be a pain point for a lot of people. I also found their bookkeeping to be pretty rudimentary. And I'll look into ClickUp! Thanks for the recommendations!
