Relume components and resizing issues in figma

At a glance

The community member is having issues with Relume components in Figma. They are unable to add a new link to the navbar by copying and pasting, as the link appears outside the component and cannot be dragged inside. Additionally, they are unable to resize a placeholder image in Component Hero 76 from 340px to 400px. Another community member, @Philipp Holbeck, suggests that the issue is due to the community member trying to edit an instance of the component rather than the main component. The solution is to detach the instance using the command cmd + option + B.

Hey Guys,
I’m having an issue with Relume components in Figma. When I try to add a new link to the navbar by copying and pasting, the link appears outside the component, and I can't drag it inside.
Additionally, I’m experiencing a problem with resizing a placeholder image in Component Hero 76. I want to change its height from 340px to 400px, but I’m unable to do so.
Does anyone else have the same issues or know how to fix them?
Thanks!

@Philipp Holbeck sounds like you are trying to edit an instance, rather than the main component in Figma. If when you select the component (navbar or header 76) if there is a purple outline, its an instance. You'll want to detach the instance to make those kinds of edits. cmd + option + B

@Matt Thanks, that really helped! I was indeed trying to edit an instance instead of the main component. Detaching it worked perfectly. Appreciate the tip!

no worries at all - happy building! 🚀
