I think this is an interesting approach, but at least in my experience I’ve never built a website that wasn’t part of a complete rebrand, including doing conceptual positioning work first. I would probably also reach out first and suggest that I’d like to share some visual ideas…rather than just showing them what their site could look like. I would think most businesses would freak out that I’ve gained some mysterious special access to their site and ask me to cease and desist immediately. I guess it’s all in the nuance of that first communication. But I’m on the waitlist for sure. 🙂
