Issue with layout 351 on tablet and mobile

At a glance

The community members are discussing an issue with a Webflow layout where the accordions do not open fully on tablet and mobile devices, but work on desktop. The issue seems to be cross-browser, affecting both Chrome and Safari. One community member suggests the problem may be related to the fact that the section is a component, and recommends duplicating the component, unlinking the instance, and copying in the content to resolve the issue. However, there is no explicitly marked answer.

Hey Corné, I took a look at your project and I don't know if you had solved it already, but I was able to navigate between tabs within your project.

I know it's Preview mode, but seems fine on my end. I'm using the Arc browser.

it does work in the preview version. Problem is that in chrome as safari browser on tablet and mobile live webflow.io domain does not work

any idea what the issue could be?

My speculation is that there's something going on with Webflow's Designer because it wasn't working for me in the beginning either.

I was on the tablet view and I tried navigating to the second tab option and it wouldn't let me.

So what I did was:

  • Went back into the Designer, and clicked on the 3rd tab and then clicked back and forth between the second and third tab.
  • I then switched the view down to mobile and opened 'Preview' mode and it worked.

Yeah, I think the Designer has been awfully buggy. because I've experienced minor issues like this in my recent projects.

any idea whats wrong?

okay if it is a cross-browser issue, I will need the published URL in order to test it out on my devices and pick up what might be going on.

Safari might be a tough one to get this to work on in a fancy way, but we should at least be able to make it functional. Safari is awful.

it is indeed cross browser, https://deafdelingburgerzaken0.webflow.io/over-ons. Would mean alot if you could find the solution!

my best guess after spending a lot of time troubleshooting across multiple browsers, devices, and trying different things is that because you made it a component and changed all the content, its somehow messing with it - also when I went to unlink instance, half the interactions disappeared. So I really think its related to the fact that this whole section is a component. My advice would be to duplicate the component, unlink instance, and copy in the content. Which I understand is a lot of work - it might actually be worth pasting in a fresh component altogether too and re-applying the styles. For some reason Webflow is corrupting the interactions.

In my opinion, there was really no need to make that a component because the content is all different for each instance of that section, and the styles all looked the same - so you were kind of being redundant in a sense because the look of the component stayed the same, and all of the content was changing.

Classes can carry the weight of the styles more effectively than trying to also make it a component. Hopefully I am making sense.
