I'm Having Trouble with My Read-Only Webflow Project

At a glance

The community member is having issues with their Webflow project and is seeking help. The errors are due to deleted variables with hidden unique IDs, and the community members are advised to start over by cloning the Webflow Style Guide. They are also provided with instructions on how to copy the style guide from one project to another and how to import pages and components using the Relume Webflow app. The community members discuss moving their Webflow CMS subscription to a new site and troubleshoot issues with the hamburger menu not showing on tablet and mobile devices. The issue with the hamburger menu is resolved by alt + clicking on the blue color label.

@Gboyega Adeojo yeah those errors are happening because you've deleted the variables and there's no way to restore them because they have hidden unique IDs. So you'd have to start from a fresh clone of the Webflow Style Guide again.

Hi @Matt thank you for your response. Not sure how to even do that.
Pardon my ignorance I'm new to Webflow and relume.

I only followed this instructions to copy the relume style guide from one project to another project. https://www.relume.io/resources/docs/updating-existing-projects#:~:text=Adding%20the%20Relume%20Style%20Guide,wrapper%20into%20this%20new%20page.

When I imported my wireframe some messages popped up saying it had changed some thing.

What is the best way to copy the style guide from a different Webflow project. I did the usual copying the page wrapper style guide and pasting it into the new project with no success.

Thank you

ah, I see so the variables never existed. Got it

@Gboyega Adeojo since this project doesn't appear to be an already established project really, I would just start over. You'll want to clone the Webflow Style Guide which you can find top right of this page. I'm showing you where to get it so that you can always access it as it will be a pretty regular thing you'll want to do.

starting over using the style guide will save you way way way more time than trying to workaround whatever pages you've already built out. If these pages were built using our Site Builder tool, you can use our Webflow app to import and create all of the pages and import all of the components in a few clicks.

I was dreading creating a different project because my Webflow CMS subscription was on that project site.
But I read you could move the plan to a different site.

As you said I am in the beginning phase I would just move my site plan to one that works.

Thank you for your time,

Appreciate

@Gboyega Adeojo yeah, understandable - Webflow has made it pretty seamless to move site plans now so it should be pretty easy to do.

if you run into any issues transferring or have any questions prior - let me know - I've done it a few times - its not as scary as it seems. πŸ™‚

Will do

Thanks heaps.

Hi Matt, I think I have another common problem, My Hamburger Menu on Tablet and Mobile do not show.
If I click on the space it should be, it works , but it seems hidden of some sort

Here is my read only link: https://preview.webflow.com/preview/main-immanuel?utm_medium=preview_link&utm_source=d[…]d00d9e15227718f625722d43f169c8c3&locale=en&workflow=preview

Thank you

@Gboyega Adeojo yeah looks like you have that unknown variable issue here - just need to alt + click on the blue color label and it should work just fine.
