Hike seo: a competitor to semrush for diy biz owners and small agencies.

At a glance

The community member is interested in using Hike SEO, a competitor to SEMrush, for their own website and client websites, mostly small businesses. They like that Hike SEO has AI content generation and feel that SEMrush may be overkill for their needs. Another community member suggests that long-term, SEMrush may be cheaper than Hike SEO, as SEMrush has tiers with a maximum number of projects per tier, while Hike SEO is billed per website. The community members discuss the pricing differences between the two tools, noting that SEMrush may be more cost-effective if using it for multiple projects, while Hike SEO may be better suited for single-website use.

Hi all, has anyone used Hike SEO? It's a competitor to SEMrush but is geared toward DIY biz owners and small agencies. It looks like a great tool, but am hoping to get more feedback.

Do you plan on using it for your own website or client websites? Semrush is great but when it comes down to pricing it might not be worth the price if you’re using it for a single project. Based on a past comparison Semrush will but much cheaper in the long run than HikeSEO once you start adding multiple projects.

Planning to use it for clients, who are mostly small biz owners, and my own website. I like that Hike SEO has AI content generation, among many other great features. SEMrush does feel overkill for small to medium sized businesses. Why do you say long term SEMrush would save you money?

Totally agree with you.

So Semrush has tiers with a max limit of projects per tier vs HikeSEO which is billed per website. Semrush is about $129/month and I believe you get 5 projects, which comes out to be about $26/project. Last time I checked HikeSEO was $69 for one website and additional websites were about $44 more or less which averages about $50/website if my math is correct. The only drawback with Semrush is you have to have enough projects to make it worth the price. The next tear up for Semrush is $249 but you’ll only find that price reasonable is if you max out the 15 website max, otherwise you’re not seeing much of a benefit. This could’ve changed since I last researched it a year ago. Hope that makes sense.
