Figma to webflow plugin naming conventions

At a glance
The community member is asking why the Relume Figma Kit does not use the same client-first naming convention as the Finsweet Figma Kit, when exporting to Webflow. The Relume Figma Kits do not fully support the Figma-to-Webflow plugin due to limitations, and the community member is frustrated that they have to redesign things twice. The Relume representative suggests using the Site Builder tool to build wireframes and then copy to Figma and Webflow, but the community member feels this is not an ideal workflow and hopes the Relume team can work to improve the compatibility between Figma and Webflow.

Hello,
In tutorials I've seen that it's adviced to recreate the design in Webflow from scratch.
I want to be able to design my website in Figma and export it directly with the Figma To Webflow plugin.
When the I add a composent in webflow, it has client-first naming, but the same component in the Figma kit doesn't have the client-first naming.
(Finsweet Figma Kit has client-first naming.)

Why making different naming in the Relume Figma Kit? Is it the same in the Pro library?

Hi Pauline,

The Relume Figma Kits do not fully support the Figma-to-Webflow. Due to limitations in the plugin, we aren't able to make the components idiomatic in figma while supporting all the features you'd expect in webflow (client first, mobile responsive, navbars, interactions, etc.)

I'd recommend using Site Builder if you'd like both Figma and Webflow export. You can build your wireframes in Relume Site Builder, then quickly copy to Figma and Webflow using the original components for each platform.

Hope that helps!

Hello Sam,

Sorry but it feels wrong to have to redesign thinks twice. The components are there in the two platforms, it is frustrating to see that only the gate is missing to have a perfect world πŸŒ„.

I understand that it cannot be fully compatible, but at least please use the client-first naming convention to people export it and make ajustments in webflow if needed.

For example, the Finsweet's "Client-First Library Figma to Webflow Kit" has proper naming convention and combined with your extension's Sync feature, we can export with client-first working.

I hope that you foresee the potential of this workflow and are working to make it happen.
