Figma to webflow class sync feature: does it still duplicate classes?

At a glance

The community member is inquiring about the class sync function of the Relume extension for Webflow, as they had experienced issues with class duplication in the past. The Relume team responds that the class sync feature should generally work fine, but it is a complex feature that relies on external factors like internet connection and Webflow API communication. They provide a troubleshooting guide for any issues that may arise. The community member also asks about the best way to import Relume components designed in Figma into Webflow, and the Relume team suggests copying the base component from their library and applying styles, rather than using the Figma to Webflow app which does not work with Relume's Client-First approach.

Useful resources

Long time since i've used to copy from Figma to Webflow feature. Does the class sync function of the relume extension works now? I've known in the past classes got duplicated a lot. btn-2, padding-global-2 etc.

Does that still happen?

@Angelo Keirsebilck not entirely sure what you mean by Figma to Webflow copy? We don't currently have that functionality.

The class sync feature of the relume extension sometimes did not work properly in the past. The classes got renamed.

@Angelo Keirsebilck okay - well generally we haven't made any changes to that feature in months and it should work fine. Its also extremely complex and relies heavily on a few variables outside of our control like a strong internet connection and Webflow API communication going smoothly.

Alright thanks for the info! What would be the best way to import the relume components that are designed in figma inside Webflow? Should i just copy the relume componetns from the library and import them? Or should i use the figma -> webflow app?

I would copy the base component from our library into webflow and then start applying color/styles from there. There's no magic Figma to webflow button (yet). The Webflow Labs Figma to Webflow app does not work with Relume as Relume is built using Client-First and that app just generates its own HTML/CSS markup.

no worries - do let me know if you run into any issues - will need a webflow read-only link in order to help troubleshoot
