Embedding images from external sources in cms articles

At a glance

The community member is looking to use the Embed feature in Webflow to display images in CMS articles, but they want the images to be pulled from a URL pointing to a database outside of Webflow. The community members discuss various options, such as creating a field in the CMS for the image URL, using a service like Clearbit to dynamically fetch company logos, and potentially moving to their own database, possibly AWS. However, there is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Useful resources

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hey everyone, I have a CMS related question
Itโ€™s not related to Relume specifically, but hoping someone knows.

Iโ€™m looking to use the Embed feature to show images on Webflow (which is possible), however Iโ€™m looking to use it for CMS articles.
Ideal outcome would be:
CMS article can pull in images form a URL pointing to a database outside of Webflow

Is this possible?

its possible if you create a field in the CMS for the image URL. So when you create the article, you'd paste the image into that field.

Or were you hoping for something a bit more dynamic then that?

Ah I was thinking say a cms page with a logo
The logo image is fed by an external database via link

Currently syncing content using Whalesync for copy, would love to do it for logos too

Okay got it - I am sure that you could make something work with something like Clearbit - https://clearbit.com/attributes#company-attributes - they have an API and a way to grab company logos dynamically - they just need the root URL - or I guess maybe even just the company name.

Are you using Airtable to store the copy or?

Currently airtable yes, but moving to our own database

Let me look into that link thanks ๐Ÿ™

sorry for probing questions - but by your own database do you mean something like Xano or?

Not sure yet, but I think AWS
