Deleting unused folders within the finsweet folders view

At a glance

The community member asked how to delete unused folders within the Finsweet Folders view. Other community members suggested removing unused classes, specifically by using the Style Manager to search for and remove individual unused classes, or to use the option to remove all unused classes. One community member clarified that this would not impact style guide classes that are set up but not currently being used on the site. The original community member expressed appreciation for the help and confirmed they were able to use the Style Manager to clean up and remove all unused classes.

Question - How can I delete unused folders within the Finsweet Folders view? Attachment for reference. Thank you in advanced! ☺

Remove the the unused classes, that will fix the problem

Hi thank you for your response! What’s the best way to do that, especially if you have several unused classes?

Go to Style Manager, and search for a particular unused class name, and remove it.

If you want to remove all unused classes, then there is an option inside the style manager to remove all unused classes.

Specifically, you would click on this icon inside of the styles manager (Hit G on your keyboard).

Hey would this impact the style guide classes that are setup but aren’t currently being used within the site?

as long as you have left those classes on the style guide page, then technically they are being used within the project, so no it would not effect those.

In some cases, lets say that you might have a custom HTML element or a custom form or something, and technically those classes do not exist within the Webflow canvas, you can also store classes on the style guide page, so that whenever you do use the cleanup styles tool, you can feel confident its cleaning up actually unused CSS styles and classes.

Super important for a nice clean project and an optimized Webflow site. I totally understand the hesitation to use it the first few times, I had the same feeling. But it gets easier to use the more you use it - especially when actively building. I'll sometimes use it immediately after I know I've just made a class obsolete, and I'll clean it up right away.

Thank you very much ! That was exactly my fear 😅 lol thank you for empathizing with me and helping me out! I’m happy to report I used the style manager to cleanup and remove all unused classes!

Also thank you to ! Much appreciated 🙌

Really appreciate. Thank you.
