Dealing with a dry spell of work.

At a glance

The community members are discussing how to deal with a dry spell of work. Some suggestions include upskilling through courses, cold outreach, and enjoying the time off. One community member is trying to enjoy the time off and improve their design skills, while another has been taking courses like Flux 4.0 and a funnel-building course. Some have tried contacting agencies and doing outreach, but with limited success. Other recommendations include building up one's portfolio, leveraging word-of-mouth, and reaching out to local startups and businesses that could benefit from a website refresh.

GM everyone, currently going through a dry spell of work. How do you guys usually deal with this? Upskill yourselves or cold outreach? Or just enjoy the time off? haha

Hey Harry, been going through the same thing. Turned in 3 projects and now in a dry spell. I'm just trying to enjoy my time and getting better with courses/designing. Sucks not working though haha

Tell me about it, I had to turn down work in October and now nothing on the horizon. What courses have you been doing?

Yep, you doing any outreach or trying to get clients any sort of way?

I've been doing Flux 4.0 and another one on building funnels by Gusten Sun

I’ve contacted a few agencies but no luck so far. I’ve also never had any luck with outreach… 🤡 hahahaha

Build up your portfolio and make use of word of mouth (ask previous clients if they know anyone looking for builds) - theres always someone who needs a website out there!

I also recommend looking local - reach out to some startups/businesses who could benefit from a website refresh

Upskill, renew your portfolio, try new marketing channels
