Hello I am trying to create a video library just like the for of a blog page. However i have a static page with 8 links to different categories for the videos - which im happy with. The problem is if i try to do this way apparently i need to do 104 pages. But if i do it as a blog page with the links at the top, within the component, it wont allow me enough links. Should i start from scratch and just put all the videos into loom or something because even chatgpt is giving me a massive headache trying to explain CMS in webflow.
Yes no problem. Just for insight; I have a blog page and blog post page, I do understand how that will work when it gets exported to Webflow.
The page called video vault, I'm really happy with the layout and would like this to remain. The page called videos is what Relume built as a library but has its own filters, however there is not enough and no more can be added; again i see that this would work exactly the same as the blog in Webflow.
Then the is just the 'video post page' which of course is where consumers view the content.
What I was try to accomplish is the 'video vault page' in effect being the filters.
Both the 'video post page' and the 'videos page' would need to be adaptable for title and descriptions. Or I would require another way of making my 'video vault work.
So what I'm trying to accomplish is that someone goes on video vault, clicks Personal safety; then a page comes up with the personal safety at the top with the videos underneath. Same result if someone chose security.
Okay yeah lets take a look - I'll need the webflow read-only link though in order to peek around.
I don't have webflow as of yet. I was trying to make sure Replume pages we correct as i don't know how webflow functions work. I also don't want to do much editing in webflow because it seems overly complicated. I'm trying to decipher; If i have 8 categories on my 'video vault page' will I need 8 pages that are titled separately? As to my understanding that if i do videos the same way as a blog then i don't get enough filters in the element Relume suggested.
If so, this all gets handled by the CMS - when you create a collection - video vaults
and another collection category
- Webflow creates two collection templates. On the video vaults
template you could list all of the videos and then have some CMS filters powered by Finsweet help you filter based on the category
collection.
On the category
collection template, you can have a collection list of video vaults
and use native webflow collection filters to only show videos from the current category
.
Overall, once you have some Webflow experience, what you are asking for is pretty straight forward and possible.
Of course this is all assuming I understand what you are doing correctly which is for sure possible that I do not.
Ok thank you so I can just have the 'video vaults' page and the 'Video page' on the wireframe, just like the blog has the 'Blog' page and the 'blog post' page and webflow can do the rest.
well yeah in theory, in the Relume Site Builder you can just designate those as templates in your mind yeah. When you import into Webflow they'll come in as normal pages and you'll have to do a bunch of stuff inside of Webflow to connect everything or create all of what I've said.
Brilliant thanks for you help an patients, I'm not a computer wiz and learning as I go so sorry for being a headache lol
naw not a headache at all Aaron - really happy to have you here and glad you discovered Relume! Pop in with any other questions you might have.
