CMS Driven Slider Help

Hi - does anyone know if it's possible to have a cms driven slider on a collection page which would display different info depending on which collection page you're on.

For example, my client manages 8 different athletes. For each athlete we will have collection page. On each athlete's collection page we want to show their story/history on a slider element (acting almost as a timeline of their lives - so each slider will be different)

An idea I had is to create another collection called 'Stories', and each item in that collection would be one step in each athlete's story. By using the multi-reference field we could tag which 'step' relates to which athlete, and then use the finsweet cms slider attibute to show the relevant steps on each athlete page's slider.

Any help or other ideas is really appreciated!

This should be do-able, you’ll just need to add a collection list to the athletes collection pages in order to target the ‘stories’ collection. To get it into a slider, I’ve found finsweets CMS slider works well: https://finsweet.com/attributes/cms-slider

Hi Sam! Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I agree I think that’s the best solution! Hoping I can then use the filter function to show only stories that are about the ‘current’ athlete! Thanks again, let you know how I get on!

Adding that collection list to the collection pages will filter it automatically if you’re using a multi-select field 👍

Oh sweet - good to know. Thank you 😊
