Checking Font Contrast Ratio in Webflow After UI Changes

At a glance

The community members are discussing the removal of the native font contrast ratio checker in Webflow after the addition of variables. One community member suggests using the "Use Contrast" Figma plugin to check color and text/background combinations before importing to Webflow. Another community member shares that the color picker in Webflow can still be accessed by unlinking the color variable from the element. The community members hope that Webflow will bring back the native contrast checker feature, as it was a useful tool.

How do you check your fonts contrast ration, after the addition of Variables? Since the old UI is gone I'm not able to find a native way to do it directly in Webflow as before.

yeah pretty sad feature removal for sure.

I use the Figma plugin "Use Contrast" - all of my colors and text/background combinations are set in Figma prior to getting to Webflow so I'm using that tool to check at that point rather than waiting until Webflow to check it. Hope that helps.

Thanks Matt, i found that you can actually still access the color picker in Webflow, but you have to first unlink the color variable from the element, after which you'll get access as it used to be before the new ui -

Ah yeah I guess that makes sense...sort of. Haha Hopefully they'll bring the contrast back into that top level view since most everybody will be using variables for colors going forward.

I hope so too, it is a really useful native feature, i don't why they had to burry it that way.
