Can't edit own comment in sitebuilder sitemap

At a glance

A community member reported an issue with the Sitemap feature in the Sitebuilder, where they can create but not edit their own comments. The error message is described as not being a great user experience. Other community members responded, noting that this issue is new and seems odd, as the feature is typically tested regularly. One community member confirmed experiencing the same issue, where they can create comments but not edit them. Another community member acknowledged the issue and said they would confer with the engineering team, apologizing to the original poster. The original poster noted that they can work around the issue, as it is not a blocking problem.

In the Sitemap from the Sitebuilder, I’m allowed to create but not edit my own comment. Also, it is not a great ux written error message. ;)

Wow what? The error message made me laugh because of how technical it is…never seen this. I test this function every week as part of our QA process - so this is new!

And you are for sure logged in as you? Seems really odd.

Still get it. I'm logged in in my own account - working as a guest in another domain. I can create comments - but once created, I'm unable to edit them.

Ah okay so thats the situation - got it. Yeah that might be that way by “design” - but agree there’s a lot of room for improvement here. I’ll have to confer with Engineering on this one. Apologies Philip - thanks for raising the issue.

No worries, I can work around it - it's not a blocking issue.
