Adding Multi-language Features to a Webflow Project

At a glance

The community member is looking to add multilingual features to their Webflow project and considered using i18next, but they can't edit the embedded app since it's from a third party. The comments discuss Webflow's native multilingual feature, with some community members suggesting it can be used to manually change the language through a dropdown menu, while others state that the native feature only allows for automatic redirection based on the user's browser settings. One community member provides a solution to create a custom dropdown and switch the URL based on the selected option. Another community member clarifies that Webflow's native multilingual feature does support manual language selection through a new element in the designer, and provides a link to a tutorial.

Why don’t you use Webflow’s native multilingual feature?

I want to provide users with the option to manually change the language by clicking on a language dropdown menu.
Is it possible to do that using webflow's native multilingual feature?

Yes, users can.

As far as I know webflow's native multilingual feature, doesn't support manual language selection through a dropdown menu natively within the platform. Instead it allows us to create separate versions of the site for different languages and automatically redirects users based on their browser's language settings...

Create your own dropdown, and switch URL based on the selected option.

your understanding is incorrect, webflow does allow users to manually select their preferred language, even if the auto-ip detection routes them to a specific locale. There's a new element in the designer for locale switching.
