Webflow site and workspace plan changes

At a glance

The community member's client received an update from Webflow about changes to their Site & Workspace plan, including a reduction in the monthly bandwidth from 200GB to 50GB. This means the client would need to pay 50% more to upgrade to the Business plan with 100GB of bandwidth if they exceed the 50GB limit. The community member is seeking advice from other freelancers and agency owners on how to deal with this change and explain it to their clients.

In the comments, another community member notes that existing sites under the previous plans will run under a "legacy" program and keep their features, but Webflow has not mentioned how long these legacy plans will be available. The commenter considers this a "shitty update" as more CMS items use more bandwidth, and the new 10GB and 50GB bandwidth limits are low compared to other hosting options. The commenter also expects it will be difficult to explain the pricing increase to new customers.

Hi everyone!

Webflow just sent an update about their Site & Workspace plan changes.
My client quickly emailed me about the reduced bandwidth from 200GB to 50GB.
This means my client has to pay 50% more to upgrade to business with 100GB bandwidth if they exceed the 50GB limit; as before, they were under the impression of 200GB/ month!

For freelancers/agency owners out there,

  • Is this effecting you, and how do you deal with it?
  • How would you guys explain this decrease to your clients?

Hey Matt, It was a morning release. As far as I know sites that where in any plans before todays update will run under a "legacy" sort of program and will keep it's features. Webflow has not mention anything yet about how long these plans will run under legacy.

On my side I think this is a shitty update because the more cms items the more bandwidth you use. WTF, 10 and 50 GB bandwidth any hosting out there can do more than that. It's gonna be hard to explain new customers that pricing increase.
