Using Relume with WordPress

At a glance

The community members are discussing how to use Relume, a design-to-code tool, with WordPress. One community member suggests using Tailwind and HTML to make the Relume React library work, or using a tool like Udesly to convert a Webflow project into a WordPress theme. Another community member asks about using a headless CMS with React and whether a WordPress library is planned for Relume. The community members also discuss the challenges of using WordPress compared to Webflow, and the potential for using Relume with larger-scale projects and platforms like Contentful, Strapi, Sanity, and Prismic.

Hi everyone, how do I use relume with wordpress? I need to use the pages in a wordpress site?

we do not currently have a wordpress library however if you wanted to use tailwind and HTML, you could make the react library work. We are in beta with that library and we do not currently have all of the same components from the webflow library built out in the react library.

Another option would be to use something like Udesly to convert a webflow project into WordPress - basically Webflow becomes your "web builder" - similar to Elementor etc. It'll generate a theme and allow you to use any plugins you'd like.

. What would the CMS be if you used React? A Headless CMS of some sort? Is using Tailwind viable at this stage?

Any idea if a Wordpress library is on the roadmap? Pushing to a Gutenberg builder like Kadence would be super helpful. Why has Wordpress not been pushed forward, given how widely used it is?

the React library is built with Tailwind, so yeah viable no doubt. The pieces are there for you to bring these components into a WordPress environment - maybe not as smoothly or as integrated as desired, but doable nonetheless. To be honest with you Travis, I don't know the exact answer to why we aren't pushing forward with a WordPress library but speaking from my own opinion - I still work with WordPress today, but after having discovered Webflow 6 years ago, its very difficult for me to enjoy working with WordPress - I think we've come from an agency world where we've had to use WordPress and then discovered a tool that is a joy to use and have no interest in going back but anything can happen. Not trying to turn this into a WP vs WF debate. Each have their place for sure and there's no denying the dominance WordPress has in the market.

Regardless, there are several headless CMS apps out there for React yeah.

I’d love to be able to use Webflow, but I need to be able to host a hundred websites affordably. Webflow is ridiculously overpriced for my use case. But the prospective value of relume (to me) is its ability to conform content to design structures to production in a way that’s legit design and not the gimmicky AI tools like Hostinger, 10Web or these others have that create disposable results.

Hi I'm looking at similar solutions for large scale projects. I'm after a solution for my team that allows me to use the relume framework for much bigger projects. I'm beyond impressed with what it can do with workflow, but I want a similar process to React and then to larger systems. Most AI tools suggest to go with Contentful, Strapi, Sanity and Prismic. Has anyone had experience with using one of those platforms with a Relume to Figma to React to Platform X workflow? Keen to hear experiences/thoughts on this approach.
