Using A Collection To Populate A Timeline Layout In Webflow

At a glance

The community member is using the timeline layout 121 and wants to use a collection to populate the h6, paragraph, and icon to the right of the timeline. They ask if this is possible and provide a preview link. Another community member responds that they should be able to make it work and provides a structure they used. The original community member confirms that the solution worked perfectly.

Another community member, Paul, initially had an issue with the collection, but found a solution and asked if it's possible to display content in the timeline component collection based on the parent collection page (e.g., Healthcare or Education). However, this part of the discussion is struck out, indicating that Paul found a solution and no longer needs assistance.

Useful resources

Hi All,
I'm using the timeline layout 121 and want to use a collection to populate the h6 and paragraph below (and ideally the icon) to the right of the timeline. Does anyone know if this is possible? Here's the preview link: https://preview.webflow.com/preview/spencer-riley?utm_medium=preview_link&utm_source=d[…]4a36d183ff&itemId=66731b983ce0128789484a02&workflow=preview

Thank you ! πŸ™‚

yeah you shouldn't have a problem making this happen - here is the structure I used to make it work within your read-only.

Let me know if that truly works out or not though!

Cheers that worked perfectly!! πŸ™‚

Hi

EDIT: I found a solution so please ignore this πŸ™‚

<strike>Hope you had a good weekend!</strike>

<strike>just discovered an unforeseen problem with the collection </strike><strike>😐</strike><strike> in that I want the nested collection that is now in timeline to display content dependent on what the parent collection is.</strike>

<strike>For example:</strike>

<strike>If the Collection page is Healthcare the timeline component collection will show sub categories of healthcare (fitness, diet, medicine, etc)</strike>
<strike>If the Collection page is Education the timeline component collection will show sub-cats of education.</strike>

<strike>I wondered if you had knew if it's possible to do this?</strike>

<strike>Cheers Matt!</strike>
