Troubleshooting timeline 11 issues

At a glance

A community member is having issues with the Timeline 11 component on their Webflow site, where the center timeline and circle markers have no color. They have tried toggling the color on and off, but the fading effect is not working as expected. Another community member suggests resetting the background colors of the classes and changing the preferences in the Webflow Library to use Relume v1.5, which will help avoid missing variables when pasting in components. The community members discuss whether it's advisable to change the preferences mid-project, and where to make this change. They also discuss how to make the timeline look like the default and troubleshoot the missing gradient variables. The solution seems to be changing the preferences to Relume v1.5 and pasting the component in again, rather than chasing down all the missing variables.

Useful resources

Hey Relume Team! I wam just starting out a site and trying to use Timeline 11, but for some reason the center timeline and the little circle markers have no color at all. I have tried toggling color on and off timeline11_line but doesn’t fade in and out like it’s supposed to? Anyways, I have used this before with no issues on other sites, wasn’t sure what I need to target to make it work as intended

would you mind sharing a read-only link?

Appreciate your help!

yeah you'll need to reset the background colors of most of these classes.

To avoid this in the future for this project, change your preferences in the library to be using the Relume v1.5 and your components will paste in better without missing variables.

Wow, thank you!! I thought I had the most recent style guide

Can I change it mid project or does it need to be at the beginning?

Lastly, where exactly do I go to make this change?

its not advisable to change this mid project, no. If you navigate to the Webflow Library on relume.io - you'll see it top right.

Ok thanks so much!

I am still not sure how to make the timeline look like the default. What settings should the top and bottom be so that it fades properly?

check out this screenshot - looks like some more variables are missing from the gradient

I mean, since you have not gotten far with customizing this, I would just make sure your preferences are set to Version 1.5, and paste the component in again

instead of chasing down all of these missing variables

But there are lots of other pages much futher along. Resetting to 1.5 requires an entirely new site, correct?

no, its just a preference setting. You are on an older style guide right now. So you'll want to change your preferences to be v1.5 - which is before variables were introduced.

if you change your preferences in the chrome extension, and in the webflow library as shown in the screenshots, you won't have to be chasing around variables anymore in this project - just change the settings, find the components again, and paste them in and they'll paste in syncing to your style guide, and in your case, without variables.

Bro! Thank you!! This is a massive help, much appreciated.
