Trouble moving premium figma kit to team project

At a glance

A community member is having trouble opening and moving a Premium Figma Kit into their team in Figma. The kit opens by default in the "External Teams > Drafts" section, and when the community member tries to move it to a Project, they receive a message saying they don't have edit access to any projects. The community member is the admin of a team in Figma, and their email address matches in both Relume and Figma.

Other community members provide troubleshooting suggestions, such as checking if the account selected in the web browser is the same as the one in the Figma desktop app, logging out and back in, and ensuring the community member's status in the members table looks correct. However, the community member has tried these steps and is still experiencing the same issue. They have reached out to Figma for a solution.

There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments, but the community members discuss the possibility of continuing to work on the file in Drafts and moving it once the issue is resolved.

Hi Lumers, I'm a Pro member. I'm having trouble opening/copying and moving a Premium Figma Kit into our team in Figma. It opens by default in External Teams > Drafts and when I attempt to move it to a Project, I receive a message of "You don't have edit access to any projects, so you can't move this file. Join or create a team and project, then try again."

This is clearly not the case because I am the admin of a Team in Figma with the same account I'm logged in with. My email address matches in Relume and Figma. I have tried logging out and back in.

Anyone out there experienced something like this before? I realize this may be a Figma issue more than a Relume one, but I figured some smart person here might know the answer. Thank you!!!

so in some instances, the account you have selected on web/browser may not be the same one you have selected in the Figma desktop app.

I would open up a fresh tab and navigate to figma.com - I would make sure that you have the account you wish to open the kit into, selected.

I would then proceed to open said figma kit.

If its still not allowing you to move the file, I would make sure to be logging out of the account via the browser (again the desktop app is separate). And logging back in.

If you have multiple figma accounts, I would try logging out of the other accounts, only leaving the one account you care about.

I would make sure that your status in the members table looks like this, and does not have any additional blue links around either one of these two columns - this would tell me that you may be an admin but have restricted access for some reason.

These are just general troubleshooting tips, not for sure things. I am hoping one of these things work for you, but let me know if thats not the case.

I really appreciate your thorough note. Unfortunately, I just did all those things and it's producing the same issue. I'm reaching out to Figma in the hopes that they have a solution.

okay sounds good. Yeah this is typically not an issue - I have 3 Figma accounts and toggle across them frequently and have never had an issue getting a figma kit into the right team. Hope they can help you!

Are you aware of another way to get the Figma kit into a project? I know you're supposed to be able to publish it to a Team, but I'm not able to do that, either.

ah, that's also probably signaling a permissions issue with the team. In theory, couldn't you continue working through the file in drafts and move it once you get this resolved or no?
