The Structure of Sections: Div Blocks vs. Section Elements

At a glance

The post asks why the structure for sections uses div blocks instead of the section block. The comments suggest that sections are essentially just div blocks with some preset settings, and that they can be a bit buggy and harder to work with without providing much additional value. One community member notes that if the actual tag used is not a section, it should still technically generate HTML as a section element.

Why does the structure for sections use div blocks instead of using the section block?

Sections are just divs with some preset settings as far as I know. I think they are a bit buggy and harder to work with, without bringing much value other than a label

Emily is spot on but if you ever navigate to Settings and find that the actual tag is not a section, be sure to flag what component that is as it should still technically generate to HTML as a <section>
