Setting up categories in the blog component

At a glance

The community members are looking for instructions on how to set up categories in the blog component. One community member suggests creating a separate CMS collection for "Blog Categories" and referencing it in the "Blog Posts" CMS, but they are unsure how to properly set up the filter. Another community member mentions using the Finsweet CMS Filter Attribute, and a third community member has a quick Loom video demonstrating a couple of approaches, including the one mentioned by the second community member.

Useful resources

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a video or instruction on how to set up categories in the blog component. Does anyone have one?

following, I’d also like to know. I think you need to create another CMS collection called “Blog Categories” and then create a reference in the “Blog Posts” CMS that refers to each category, but I don’t know how to set up the filter to be working properly.

Not sure there’s a video tutorial, but you can set this up using the Finsweet CMS Filter Attribute: https://finsweet.com/attributes/cms-filter

I do have this quick loom on a couple of approaches including the one Brandon linked to!
