Relume Chrome Extension Class Sync Differences in Webflow

At a glance

The community member is using the class sync feature from the Relume Chrome Extension and has noticed differences in how classes are synced when pasting from the browser library versus the extension in Webflow. Some classes are not synced properly, and the button class is always renamed. The community member appreciates the time-saving benefits of class sync but is frustrated when components still get renamed. Other community members suggest cleaning up any existing duplicated classes, and turning class sync on and off to resolve the issue. There is a discussion about the possibility of having class sync default to being turned on.

Useful resources

I am using the class sync from the Chrome Extension (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/relume-chrome-extension-f/doeokejknjdlpgkkmlbcahojmnpdlebm)
I noticed that there is a difference when you paste from the browser (Relume website library) or from the extension from Relume in Webflow it self. There are more classes not synced when I use it in Webflow. But some like the button always is renamed.

I know you guys have it very busy but the class sync saves so much time. But when some of the components still get renamed its no so quick

so if you paste from the chrome extension - sometimes the classes are syncing properly? You get duplicate classes?

Can you check that your preferences match your style guide?

Can you provide a read-only link?

, yes that preference is the same.

that link is broken for me.

yep that worked - will take a look

in order to prevent further duplicated classes, you have to clean your project of any existing ones - I know that they were created initially because class sync didn't work properly, but just letting you know.

Last night I embarked on a new project and started with a fresh clone of the style guide - my class sync was turned off by default so I turned it back on. I ran into a component that was duplicating the button class. I did a quick undo - which removed all of the classes that were added by the pasting. I think turned off class sync - saved - refreshed, turned class sync on, saved, refreshed - and tried pasting the component again - and it worked fine.

Ooh great! Thank you πŸ™‚ I will clean those up!

Is it a possibility to have it default switched on?

I am not sure. That would be ideal for sure. I will check with the team.
