Question for people working in Webflow with Relume components Do you find yourself performing "surgery" on the components to structure exactly as you like? Or have you just gotten to know the Relume structure so you can just deploy components without any surgery and move faster? Thanks so much for your insights!!! 馃檹
Hey Jack, if by perform surgery you mean change the original component in some way then yes almost always. Could be as small as removing a sub heading that's not needed or changing a grid from 3 to 2 columns but it's rare that I would leave it exactly in it's original state. It still removes the need to build the entire thing from the ground up and so saves a ton of time. Hope that helps!
Hi Andy, thanks. Well, by "surgery" I mean changing the structure of the component - adding extra divs and classes, grouping elements differently. I guess I'd like to get to a stage where I know the structure of the components so well that I can just deploy them, add and remove what I need and move on, without getting into the weeds too much. And i guess that comes with time and practice.
So the answer is yes, time and practice. I鈥檇 also take a look at your biz model. If you sell speed. Then avoid surgery and practice doing it with what you want. If you sell custom unique bespoke designs/sites, then practice the process of the surgery and find the best time to do it in the project. may be its better at a different point in time 馃檪
