Potential impact of cloning a large style guide in Webflow

At a glance

The community member is a newbie to web design and Webflow, and they have a question about whether cloning a large style guide in Relume will affect their website's loading speed. The comments suggest that the file size of the clonable style guide itself will not impact page speed, as it is a Webflow bug that includes historical backups. However, the community member is concerned that the large number of classes added by the style guide may affect performance. The other community members respond that this is generally not a significant issue, and provide a link to more information on the topic from Finsweet, the creator of Client-First, which is what the components are based on.

the clonable file size will not affect your page speed. This is just the file size - its a webflow bug that also includes historical backup snapshots in the file and obviously the file is a couple years old with many changes in it.

Thanks Matt but was i refering to is that it ads alot of classes

okay sure, I understand now. I would say no, in general its not going to impact your performance in a significant way. Its something that you would need to take into consideration sure, but the style guide in itself is not going to slow your site down. In addition to a fully built website, sure its adding some classes.
